FESTIVAL NEWS!

Raindance in London!

We are excited to announce that we had our world premiere at the RAINDANCE FILM FESTIVAL in London, UK on September 30th. This is the biggest and most prestigious (ooh-lala) festival in the UK and it was an honor to be accepted here.  

Independent Television Festival!

Our US premiere was at the Independent Television Festival in Dover, VT on Oct 6th and Oct. 8th!

We got tons of laughs from the audience at our screenings and we were stoked to have a couple judges approach us and tell us they were voting for The Room Actors for best comedy! What?? YES!

Awesome Kickstarter bakers Liam and Julia Kemp drove from Maine to see the screening in Vermont! They are the absolute BEST and it was so rewarding to see them there.

"The two episodes that were screened exceeded our expectations in every conceivable way. Without spoiling anything, it's hilarious. Nearly every second is. Every one of the ROOM veterans returning for these episodes showed what they can do under circumstances better than the ones we've been laughing at since 2003...But I noticed that although it is crammed with references to THE ROOM, the show seemed so much more accessible to outsiders than I imagined possible. From what might seem like a rather esoteric jumping off point, this thing manages to land on its feet as a multilayered piece that should be able to hook anyone." - LIAM KEMP

Hello everyone!

We are excited and proud to announce that The Room Actors: Where Are They Now? will have its World Premiere as an official selection of The Raindance Film Festival #RFF16 in London Sept. 30th-Oct 1st! We hope that our UK friends will stop in for the screening - we'd love to meet you all. 

We are beyond psyched to host our US premiere at the Independent Television Festival (ITVFest) Oct 6th-9th in Dover, VT! We are also proud to be an official selection of the Chicago Comedy Film Festival #ccff held November 10th-12th. More festivals news coming very soon...!

REWARD NEWS

Thanks so much for your patience as we send out all the rewards we promised...and believe me there were a lot!!! If you ordered an unsigned poster, or just a t-shirt or a mug, your reward has been mailed and hopefully, you've received it. If you ordered a signed poster, they are making their way around the country right now. Greg and Dan have already signed and they are on their way to Philip in Arizona. Check out the finished poster below (artwork by Tony Peluce and poster design by Maria Abramowicz) and see Dan Janjigian take five f-ing minutes to sign. 

Our less than stellar news is we have to wait for the project to go through its festival run before we can mail DVD/Blu-Rays to backers.

Lots of the festivals we've applied to require that the project is unseen and/or has not been distributed via DVD/Blu-Ray in order for it to be considered. Our hope is that we get funding and distribution for the project that allows us to shoot the remaining 7 episodes (already written and ready to go.) Many online platforms also ask that a project is fresh and unseen before they agree to finance remaining episodes or distribute online. 

Please stay tuned for more exciting festival news. I hope some of you can catch a screening in London, Vermont, Chicago and some of the other big cities we'll be visiting soon!

Hey everyone, 

The t-shirts and mugs are in!! I love the way they turned out and I hope you will too! I want to give a shout out to Marian Angeles Aznar from Barcelona, Spain who did the original artwork used on the coffee mugs and t-shirts! Her stuff is really fun. The posters are going to press this week! Here's a sneak peek of my cool original poster and DVD artwork done by local LA artist Tony Peluce. 

I wanted to play with "the Citizen Kane of bad movies" theme so I asked Tony to depict the Room actors in a snow-globe caught in a tornado ripping through Hollywood. He did a great job! It captures the fishbowl feel of being in a cult movie. He added Greg Ellery riding the bomb/wrecking ball since the last rendition. I'll be sending out rewards when I return from vacation in mid-July. If you ordered a signed poster, there will be a several week delay as I'm mailing the posters to Greg in Chicago, Dan in Austin and Philip in Arizona for their signatures. I can't wait to get you all this good stuff! 

Ok - now you're probably wondering when you get to SEE the actual film. It IS complete and it looks great (ok - maybe that's not the humble answer, but I am super proud of it and I can't wait to share it with you! ) We are submitting to film festivals right now. Getting into festivals will help increase awareness for the project, give us a bigger audience and hopefully, help us fund the next 7 episodes of the series! I have them all written and ready to go. Just need the mula! 

We are also talking to several on-line platforms about hosting the project for us - this would be incredible b/c it would again mean more $$ to make the rest of the series. Unfortunately, until some of these things are worked out, I can't send the DVD/Blu-Ray of the project. But, we didn't forget about the on-line screening and I'm working out a way that you can tune in and with a special password watch the project with us live. That online/web screening will be happening soon so please stay tuned for details.

Hey guys, 

Have an funny, touching, bizarre, creepy, or epic Room story? We want to hear it!! Join us in celebrating the hilarious, amazing experience of being a Room fan! 

We're putting together a fan montage video where YOU tell your incredible story about The Room - the first time you saw it, someone you met there, your experience in line, why you love The Room, etc. 

Please send a 1-2 minute video of yourself telling your Room story - or get together with friends and record your Room story - be creative - do whatever you want! Send it to: [email protected]. The fan montage video will be included in the bonus features of the DVD/Blu-Ray! Deadline has been extended to next Friday, May 20th. 

This is a Kickstarter backer stretch goal reward so we are giving preference to those who donated at the $25 level or above. If you didn't have the cash to donate at the $25 level back in November 2014, but want to now - you still can! Upgrade to a $25 donation and you'll receive an invitation to the web screening coming up soon. Or a framable poster. A $55 donation gets you a copy of the DVD when it's released and all the digital downloads you could ever want!

Hello Room Mockumentary Backers!

You will be getting an email from Backerkit sometime today. This company partners with Kickstarter to help us get surveys out and keep everything well organized for your rewards. Please take a minute to fill out the survey questions so we can get you the proper t-shirt size, a DVD vs. Blu-Ray, etc. Didn't order a t-shirt, poster, or DVD the first time, but think you might want one now? You can still get it through Backerkit. Please add anything else to your order and we'll ship it out together! 

We're getting close to a finished project on the web series and excited to share it with you. We had a pick-up day last Sunday to get footage to fill in a few gaps. We worked with Craig Cackowski from VEEP and Drunk History again. I think you're gonna love his stuff - he's hilarious. Here are some pictures from the day!
